The question has been put forward countless of times. Why should you vote for anybody? Will it ever make a difference?
Its important to understand what makes a good candidate for a position like this. People want candidates who share the same beliefs and understand issues the same way.
While I agree, I think its important that a candidate be impartial to a large degree. People will talk more about their own interests. No one cant stop that, and no candidate should try.
Thus, you should elect someone who can represent everybody. If a person is well-qualified to the position, yet is little known to the majority, that person can still do just as well as if someone extremely famous.
Its important that a council member can represent as many sides of an issue as possible, and do so in a nice way. The person should be able to differentiate personal interest from public opinion.
Its of course a bonus if a candidate can relate to the issue in question with personal experience. It doesn't matter if the candidate is also a member of the community, that qualifies the validity of the candidate.
Cast a vote, make you opinions heard and make EVE and it's community mean more then just a game.
